One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God. 2 He noticed two empty boats at the water’s edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets...

4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.”

5 “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” 6 And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! 7 A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.

Ezekiel 47

1 The man led me back to the door of the Temple. I saw water coming out from under the doorway that faces east. (The Temple faced east.) The water flowed down from the south end of the Temple. It was south of the altar.

2 The man brought me out through the outer north gate. And he led me around outside to the outer east gate. The water was coming out on the south side of the gate.

3 The man went toward the east with a line in his hand. He measured about a third of a mile. Then he led me through water that came up to my ankles. 

4 The man measured about a third of a mile again. Then he led me through water that came up to my knees. Then he measured about a third of a mile again. And he led me through water up to my waist. 

5 The man measured about a third of a mile again. But it was now a river that I could not cross. The water had risen too high. It was deep enough for swimming. It was a river that no one could cross. 

9 And everywhere the river goes, there will be many animals and fish. Wherever this water goes the Dead Sea will become fresh. So where the river goes there will be many living things. 

• Wherever this water goes....

• Lead me! 

Romans 8:14 - For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

• Do you ask questions?  

19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.

 20 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’

21 “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said.

22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

• Is it really a reason or is it an excuse?

• Do you have a giving goal?

23 When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy.

• Are you looking for answers or affirmation?  

• Do you have someone in your life that can see what you're lacking?

• Will you work on it or walk away?

Acts 16

30 - After he had led them out of the jail, he asked, "What must I do to be saved?"

31 - They replied, "Have faith in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved!  This is also true for everyone who lives in your home."

32 - Then Paul and Silas told him and everyone else in his house about the Lord.

33 - While it was still night, the jailer took them to a place where he could wash their cuts and bruises.  Then he and everyone in his home were baptized.

Matthew 28:19 - So go and make followers of all people in the world.  Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

34 - "A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

35 - By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

- What if we stopped focusing on what could go wrong, and started believing in what could go right?

- Stop counting yourself out of WHAT God has called you to!

Mark 14

3 - Jesus was eating in Bethany at the home of Simon, who once had leprosy, when a woman came in with a very expensive bottle of sweet-smelling perfume.  After breaking it open, she poured the perfume on Jesus' head.

4 - This made some of the guest angry, and they complained, "Why such a waste?"

Luke 7

37 - There was a sinful woman in that town.  She knew that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house.  So the woman brought some expensive perfume in an alabaster jar.

38 - She stood at Jesus' feet, crying.  Then she began to wash his feet with her tears.  She dried his feet with her hair.  She kissed his feet many times and rubbed hem with the perfume.

41 - Jesus said, "There were two men.  Both men owed money to the same banker.  One man owed him 500 silver coins.  The other man owed him 50 silver coins.

42 - The men had no money, so they could not pay their debt.  But the banker told the men that they did not have to pay him.  Which one of those two men will love him more? 

43 - Simon answered, "I think it would be the one who owed him the most money."  Jesus said to him, "You are right."

44 - Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman?  When I came into your house, you gave me no water for my feet.  But she washed my feet with her tears and dried my feet with her hair.

45 - You did not greet me with a kiss, but she has been kissing my feet since I came in.

Why such a waste?

How determined are you to get to Jesus?

My worship is birthed from my experience and NOT only from my education!

Once upon a time...

The Road Part 2 - Pastor Micah

"Road Recovery"

Mark 10

46 - Now they came to Jericho.  As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging.

47 - And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"

48 - Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

49 - So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.  Then they called the blind man, saying to him, "Be of good cheer.  Rise, He is calling you."

50 - And throwing aside his garment (cloak), he rose and came to Jesus.

51 - So Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you wnat Me to do for you?"  The blind man said to Him, "Rabbi, that I may receive my sight."

52 - Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well."  And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

Don't miss an opportunity because of an opinion!

- My condition is not my conclusion!

- Can "they" see what I can't see?

Steps to Road Recovery

1. Be of good cheer!

Qualities of chronically unhappy people.

#1 Quality - Your default belief is that life is hard.

John 16:33 - I've told you this so that my peace will be with you.  In the world you'll have trouble.  But cheer up!  I have overcome the world."

2. Rise!

3. Cast aside your cloak!

Ephesians 4 - ... Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything -- and I do mean everything -- connected with that old way of life has to go.  It's rotten through and through.  Get rid of it!  And then take on an entirely new way of life --a God - fashioned life, a life renewed for the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.

1 Peter 5:7 - Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

4. Followed Jesus

Luke 9:23 - Anyone who wants to follow me must put aside his own desires and conveniences and carry his cross with him every day and keep close to me!

Shame will always reference you from your lowest level!

The devil wants you to believe that the wayside is your final destination!

"What do you want Me to do for you?"

Jesus wants to call you from the side of the road back onto the road!

The House Part 4 - Pastor Adam

Point 1 - Junk Mail

- Clutter happens when you neglect to pay attention to what's coming in and going out of your house!

Point 2 - Hoarding

- What are you hoarding?

- What are you keeping in your house?

- What has died/dying in your house but you are used to the smell?

Point 3 - Clean up the Clutter

- Start Today

- Get rid of it.

James 1:21 - So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. (NLT)

Romans 12:2 - Don't become so well - adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.  Instead, fix your attention on God.  You'll be changed from the inside out.  Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.  Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity.  God brings the best out of you, develops well - formed maturity in you. (MSG)

- Decide what you're going to keep.

Matthew 6:19-21 - "Don't hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or - worse-! - stolen by burglars.  Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it's safe from moth and rust and burglars.  It's obvious, isn't it?  The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being." (MSG)
